The Kraemer is a historic building in the center of downtown Anaheim, 2.5 miles from Disneyland. Guests tell us the drive or rideshare to the parks takes about 10 minutes. Here is how people use that location to plan a Disneyland trip that is comfortable and easy on the budget, whether you are a family, a group of friends or a couple.
Choose a place with enough room
Our Culver is a 1-bedroom, 1-bath residence for up to 4 guests. Our 2-bedroom, 2-bath residences (Hawthorne, Carson and Monterey) sleep up to 6, with a living room and an air mattress available for additional guests. Two bathrooms make busy park-day mornings easier, and separate bedrooms mean children can go to bed early while adults stay up.
Use a kitchen to keep food costs down
Every residence has a fully stocked kitchen, and there is a Vons supermarket across the street. Many families cook breakfast and pack snacks for the park, then save restaurant meals for the evening.
Getting to and from the parks
Disneyland is 2.5 miles away by car or rideshare. Parking behind The Kraemer is free and secure (cars need to be moved every 72 hours). For current park tickets, hours, reservations and parking options, check Disneyland's official website before you go, since those change.
Dinner without getting back in the car
Downtown Anaheim is walkable. The restored Anaheim Packing District food hall and many restaurants are a short walk away, so after a long park day you can eat close to where you are staying. Guests also mention coffee shops, a pharmacy and breweries nearby. See our guide to downtown Anaheim on foot.
Fireworks from your residence
Carson and Monterey overlook Disneyland's nightly fireworks show, and guests staying elsewhere in the building tell us they have watched it from their windows or the parking structure too.
A simple 3-night plan
- Night 1: Check in after 3 pm, stock the kitchen at Vons across the street, and walk to dinner at the Packing District.
- Day 2: Park day. Make breakfast at home, go back midday for a rest if you have little ones, and watch the fireworks from the residence if you are in Carson or Monterey.
- Day 3: A second park (Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney are next to Disneyland), or a slower day exploring downtown Anaheim, the Muzeo and the Carnegie Library.
Guests also mention that Knott's Berry Farm and Angel Stadium are quick drives from the building.
